About Me.
Hi, I’m Danielle, and if adaptive gaming feels overwhelming or hard to even start, you’re not alone.
I’m a Recreational Therapist with over 10 years of experience in adaptive video gaming, specializing in spinal cord injury and brain injury. Over the years, I’ve seen the same thing again and again: people want to game, but they don’t know where to begin. There are so many devices, settings, and options out there that it can feel overwhelming, especially if you’re navigating disability, caregiving, or changing abilities at the same time.
I’ve had the privilege of helping design and beta test the Xbox Adaptive Controller and the Xbox Adaptive Joystick, but what matters most is helping people gain access to these controllers and actually use them. My goal is to make adaptive gaming feel accessible, understandable and empowering, not intimidating.
I take a calm, transparent approach and explain things in a way that actually makes sense, without jargon or judgment. I don’t just help you get a setup working; I make sure you fully understand it so you feel confident troubleshooting, adjusting, and evolving it on your own. Autonomy matters. You deserve to feel in control of your gaming experience.
I also genuinely enjoy building, modifying, and problem-solving. I love figuring out how things could work better, and I believe gaming is about connection, creativity, and fun, not just controllers and cables.
Whether you’re a gamer, caregiver, or rehab professional, my role is simple: meet you where you’re at, help you get unstuck, and make sure you come away feeling capable, confident, and supported.
You don’t have to figure this out by yourself, and it doesn’t have to be as complicated as it feels.
